AADHAAR card necessary to apply online for engineering entrance, JEE Main 2017
Online applications have begun for the all India engineering entrance exam conducted by CBSE - the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2017 which will be conducted on 2 April, 2017. However, all interested applicants need to ensure that they have a valid AADHAR card (issued by UIDAI) ready with their correct information. Without the AADHAAR number, name, date of birth, gender (your school records should match with UIDAI's data), you won't be able to apply for JEE Main 2017.
JEE Mains 2017 will be the basis of admission to all undergraduate engineering programs in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs.)
There will be two versions of the exam - the offline (pen and paper) JEE Main will be conducted on 2 April, 2017 while the online (computer-based) JEE Main will be held on 8 & 9 April, 2017.
Engineering aspirants planning for B.Tech or B.E after 12th can start applying now as the online applications started yesterday, 1 December, 2016 and will be open till 2 January, 2017. However, you can pay the application fees till 3 January, 2017.
