The JEE Advanced 2017 Question Paper may look like this!

Published on: Author:

It’s that time of the year when class 12 students across India are getting to know their board exam results and are gearing up their preparation for upcoming engineering entrance exams like JEE (Advanced), BITSAT, COMEDK etc.

Within a few weeks, these engineering aspirants will also be able to shortlist an engineering college or else, drop a year and prepare again by joining a reputed IIT-JEE coaching institute of India at Kota or any other location. The coaching hub of India, Kota’s coaching institutes are also well-equipped to counsel students across India with the help of special mobile apps such as "All About Exams" by Motion Education Pvt. Ltd.

One of the biggest worries faced by engineering aspirants is the lack of clarity about the JEE Advanced Exam Pattern. The IITs which set the question paper are known to be tight-lipped about the pattern of the paper and students have to wait till the D-day for the secret to be revealed. This is one of the main reasons that make the JEE-advanced among the most-feared and toughest engineering entrance exam. It is no wonder that getting a UG engineering seat in one of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is considered such a big deal!

The IITs get the crème-de-la-crème among all the students who dream of becoming engineers and most of those who get into the IITs have been mentored and guided at good coaching centres like Motion Education, Kota. In fact, a recent article in a leading newspaper, quoted IIT students who had prepared in Kota, and who reportedly found the faculty at the Kota coaching centres way more actively involved as compared to their IIT professors.

This dedication by the coaching mentors at Kota reflects in the results as well – the legacy of the "coaching hub of India" continued in this year’s JEE Main 2017 result too! An impressive 70% of Motion students got selected, proving that Kota is not just a place to coach toppers, but average students too. This is in sync with the institute’s motto as well – "hamara vishwash har ek vidhyarthi hai khas."

The JEE Advanced this year is being organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras which is among the best even within the IITs. Now IIT-M is known to test your logical and analytical aptitude. This means that JEE Advanced 2017 may not to be too lengthy, but you can expect a lot of questions that test your logic and concepts.

The Chemistry section of JEE Advanced this year might be easy, whereas there’s a chance that the Mathematics & Physics section turn out to be tougher. The Maths section might be a little complicated with tricky questions, while Physics may test you on logics and concepts. You can expect a tricky Organic section in Chemistry but an easy – average Inorganic & Physical section.

MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and Integer Type Questions will comprise a major chunk of the JEE Advanced 2017 question paper.

What would remain easy are the Passages and Matrix Match Questions which require good comprehension skills that are developed in students through regular training by the coaching centers of Kota with the right mix of study material and personal guidance by the faculty.

Subject experts at Motion Education who have been studying the trends in all the previous years’ JEE Advanced question papers, have tried to give an idea about what to expect in the JEE Advanced paper in the year 2017. They have conducted two predictive assessments based on the trends observed from 2006 to 2015 and the new 2016 pattern. Trends between 2012 and 2016 are discussed in detail, chapter wise for all subjects (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics respectively).

Trends in JEE Advanced Chemistry Section 2012 – 2016 & Expected Exam Pattern for 2017

Trends in JEE Advanced Mathematics Section 2012 – 2016 & Expected Exam Pattern for 2017

Trends in JEE Advanced Physics Section 2012 – 2016 & Expected Exam Pattern for 2017

Coaching institutes in Kota regularly advise students to prepare according to this said pattern.  JEE coaching centers realize the importance of proper analysis of previous years’ JEE questions to predict the next year’s exam pattern – and do this with utmost care.

The above analytical study is just a suggestion by Moion’s faculty based on facts and figures from the last few years. There is always a chance that the IITs take everyone by surprise and come up with a whole new pattern this year!

The purpose of this analytical study is to provide students with a clearer picture that will help them plan their strategy to attempt JEE Advanced 2017 intelligently. Students should realize that JEE Advanced is a test of wits & IQ and no one can predict what the JEE committee may come up with.

So wishing the very best to all the students and hope that you get what you deserve in all the examinations you write. Don’t forget that a seat in the IITs is not the end of the world!
