IIM Ahmedabad introduces a 2 year distance learning course for the very first time
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad introduced a 2-year Post Graduate Program in Management (e-PGP) through distance learning for the first time, yesterday. This distance learning program will be taught using satellite based technology.
This is the first time an IIM has introduced a distance learning program in their curriculum. The e-PGP program is targeted at working professionals and entrepreneurs and the program fees will be 17 lakh Indian Rupees.

The course will be on roll from June this year on an interactive onsite learning platform, IOL. IIMA Director, Ashish Nanda, is expecting junior, mid-level and experienced working professionals and entrepreneurs to enroll for this program.
50% marks in graduation and your GMAT/CAT score or the score in the online entrance test conducted by IIMA are the prerequisites to apply to this program.

IIM Ahmedabad faculty member and Program Chair, Biju Varkkey said, "This will be an intense and vigorous programme structured like a regular programme but only offered through distance learning. In the first year we will offer core subjects in management, and second year will be for electives."
Individual and group projects will also be part of the curriculum and the candidate will be supervised by an IIM-A faculty member.
IIM-A has a tie-up with Hughes Global Education, which delivers technology for interactive onsite learning through satellite based education system in more than 50 cities across 85 classrooms.
