IIM Ahmedabad to take up Bahubali as a case study

India's top management institute, IIM Ahmedabad, is planning to take up the blockbuster movie "Bahubali" as a part of its MBA curriculum. The case study will focus on the Indian film business right from its inception till the time it is showcased on the silver screen and will broadly cover areas like film financing, marketing and promotion, distribution etc.

Mr. Bharath Kandaswamy, an alumnus of IIM-A, has been given the responsibility of authoring the case study which is planned to be introduced as an elective course on movie business primarily for the second year students of the flagship PGP in Management course.Kandaswamy is associated with a production house named Kavithalayaa Productions that has made some popular films in the past such as Roja and Ek Duje Ke Liye. This is not the first time, IIM-A has taken such initiative, in 2016, IIM Ahmedabad introduced case study on how digital entities like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar affect the movie business.
