IIM Rohtak's average salary in placements rises to Rs. 12.3 lakh

The final placements for Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, has concluded as 2017’s batch of postgraduate programme in management witnessed a rise in the average salary of Rs 12.3 lakh whereas the average salary for last year stood at around Rs 11.78 lakh.

The top salary skyrocketed nearly by 42% from Rs.18.3 lakh, in 2016 to Rs.25.9 lakh, which was offered by Yes Bank. Over 57 companies visited the campus of IIM-Rohtak for placements this year. Yes Bank, IDFC Bank, RBL Bank, State Bank of India JP Morgan Chase, Azure Power and Idea Cellular, were among those companies that visited IIM-Rohtak’s campus. There were about 45 percent of the students who got placed in companies such as Yes Bank, Amazon, Idea Cellular and BPCL where they acquired roles in sales, production and accounts.

Last year there were only six students who were offered pre-placement offers (PPO) but this year there are 25 students who were offered PPO, based on their performance in their summer internship. 20 out of 25 students accepted their offers in organizations like Dabur, Idea Cellular, Arcesium and ICICI.

When it comes to financial sector, companies such as JP Morgan Chase, Thomson Reuters, Arcesium, RBL Bank and ICIC Bank offered jobs to 19 percent of the students in capital markets, corporate management, risk management, retail banking, investor communication, trading and investment banking. Operations and consulting services saw 12 percent and 11 percent of the batch, opting for domains such as Accenture, Cognizant, Wipro and Infosys which were the companies that also offered roles in IT and Analytics domain.

In summer placement of 2018’s batch witnessed the average stipend of Rs 56,479, increase by 12% when compared to that of the previous year.
