MH CET Exam: Parents and students request the government for postponement

According to the information released on the official MH CET 2021 website, the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will be conducted from 4th September 2021 to 10th September 2021, while the second phase will be conducted from 14th September 2021 to 20th September 2021. Candidates have been giving their best efforts for the preparations of MH CET 2021 to secure admissions to pharmacy, engineering, and agricultural courses in colleges across Maharashtra.

Other than this extremely important entrance exam, the NEET UG 2021 will be conducted on 12th September 2021, and the entrance exam for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will be organized on 7th, 8th, and 13th September 2021. Moreover, the class improvement exams for class 12th students in CBSE schools will also be conducted between 25th August 2021 and 15th September 2021. With such a packed examination schedule, students are under a lot of stress and might be forced to drop one or multiple exams.

MH CET 2021: Parents request postponement of exams

Maharashtra higher and technical education minister, Mr Uday Samant, has received a petition from the parents and students to postpone the dates for the MH CET 2021 Exam as the dates clash with other all-India level exams. The president of India-wide Parents’ Association, Ms Anubha Sahai, has written a letter to the minister stating that, “A host of exams have been scheduled to take place around the same time as the MH-CET and this is adding to the anxiety of students. Since MH-CET exams are conducted by the state, we are hoping for some relief.”

She further wrote that “I, therefore, request you to kindly reschedule the dates and postpone it for a week or 10 days so that students will not face any issue and will be able to appear for the exam.”

Students are facing a lot of uncertainty and pressure due to this clash of dates. Many students fear that they might have to miss several exams amidst this confusion. An aggrieved student stated that “Around the same time, class 12 students from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also have their class improvement exam, which is scheduled to take place between 25th August and 15th September. If the CET exam isn’t rescheduled, either student will be under a lot of stress to appear for all exams, or they’ll end up dropping one or two of the exams, which is unfair.”

As of now, no information has been received from the Maharashtra government if they have decided to postpone the exams or not. Students are advised to regularly check the official website to avoid any rumours or incorrect information doing rounds.
