UP Board Exams 2017: Expected to Begin from March 16

The UP Board of Secondary Education is expected to conduct the Board Exams for Class 10 and Class 12 from March 16, 2017. The exam dates are pushed ahead due to the upcoming state elections which are scheduled to end on March 11, 2017. There will be a three-day break for the festival of Holi post which the exams are expected to begin. According to a report published by a leading daily, due to the exams being pushed ahead, the declaration of results is likely to get delayed as well. Students of Class 12 will have only a limited period of time to apply to the universities of their choice due to the delay in both the exams and results as well.

A similar case of Board Exams being pushed ahead due to elections had taken place in UP back in the year 2012.

Just recently the UP Board had released the timetable for the Board Exams wherein the Class 10 exams were scheduled to begin from February 16, 2017 while the Class 12 exams were scheduled to begin from February 16 and end on March 20, 2017. The Board had to hold back on publishing the date sheet however as per the directive from the Election Commission of India.

For the academic year 2016-17, the practical exams have begun. They are scheduled to take place between December 22, 2016 and January 20, 2017. A whooping 60,29,252 candidates have registered themselves for Board Exams for Class 10 and 12 for this year.

34,04,571 are expected to appear for Class 10 Board Exam while around 26,24,681 students have registered themselves for Class 12 Board Exam, in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.).
