UpGrad joins hands with Startup India as the Education Partner
UpGrad, an online learning and education platform, has joined hands with Startup India, as their education partner.
Co-founded by Ronnie Screwvala, UpGrad will offer a four-week programme that will showcase the unforeseen and usual challenges faced by an entrepreneur and also guide them with the necessary steps to setup their own venture. This programme is aimed at both budding and experienced entrepreneurs.
Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister, and DIPP Secretary, R Abhishek believe this programme will benefit 1 lakh and over 1 million entrepreneurs over a span of one year and 2-3 years respectively, UpGrad stated.
Ronnie Screwvala said, “If India can create 1 million first generation entrepreneurs in the next five years and each of them create an average of 50 jobs – that is going to reverse the trend technology and automation is having on shrinking employment opportunities for the youth.”

Initially the programme will be launched in English and Hindi however, to cross the language barriers; eventually it will be launched in regional languages like Tamil, Telugu and Marathi as well.
