UPSC releases notifications for Civil Services and IFS Preliminary Examinations 2017

Two Exam notifications have been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). They are Civil Services (CS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Preliminary Examination, 2017. There are over 980 vacant slots that are to be filled after the Civil Services Preliminary Examination whereas there are 110 vacancies for the selected candidates of IFS Preliminary exam.

Last date for the receipt of application for both Civil Services Preliminary examination and the IFS Preliminary examination is on March 17, 2017 (till 6 pm). The main CSE exam will probably be conducted in October, 2017. E-Admission certificates will be issued three weeks prior to the commencement of the CSE preliminary examination. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria and other information before they apply for the preliminary exams.

Civil Services exam will be conducted in two stages (i) Preliminary stage – that will have objective type questions and the candidates who clear this exam will move on to (ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination – written exam and interview for the selection of candidates. The procedure will be same for the IFS exam as well but the candidates will have to apply for Civil Services Preliminary Exam before they apply for IFS Preliminary Exam. The IFS (Main) Exam will probably be conducted on December 2017. Candidates can check the official website for more details.
