Admission to various programs in NIT Karnataka is done on the basis of entrance exams and interview.

(I) Under Graduate Programme


The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (NITK, Surathkal) offers admission to Under Graduate (UG) programme leading to BE/BTech on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination – AIEEE. INRA (Indian Nationals Residing Abroad)

The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) at Surathkal offers admission to Indian Nationals Residing Abroad and who has passed qualifying exam from overseas. The application form of such candidates shall be routed through the following-

(II) Post Graduate Programmes

  • Master of Technology (M.Tech.) – The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal offers admission to M.Tech. programme on the basis of GATE Score. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) jointly conduct GATE examination every year in the month of February.
